You see - What you “see” has very little to do with your eyes - It has everything to do with your heart…And if your heart is free - Only then will you “see”

Today at Holy Mass we hear St Paul say something rather interesting…”To this day, whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over the hearts of the children of Israel, but whenever a person turns to the Lord the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom”…Couple of things to note here…The first - The image of sight is once again brought to our attention….For some reason some people can not “see”…So the question is - What is causing their blindness?…The second point to note - As the person turns to the Lord - They not only “see” something others do not - But they become free…Interesting? - This seems to be the exact opposite message told to all of us by the world - Do you think the devil as anything to do with that?…He is not called the Father of Lies for nothing

“Kindness and truth shall meet; justice and peace shall kiss. Truth shall spring out of the earth, and justice shall look down from heaven”

The first reading today at Mass was written by St Paul…As we all know, St Paul encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus and was struck blind for three days…Once the “scales fell” from his eyes, the man known as Saul became Paul…And the rest is history…..St Paul was a brilliant and educated man, unlike the twelve apostle…Before his encounter with Jesus - How could such a man be “blind” to something that is not only good for him but good for the entire world?…..Something for all of us to ponder for sure…..Many years ago I went to confession in Hoboken New Jersey…At the time I was in my late twenties…I remember the priest was trying to bring to my attention a sin, which in my mind was not a sin….And I was very sincere in my convictions…The priest was gently trying to educate me but I not only could not see his point of view but thought to myself that he was wrong and I was right…Looking back in hindsight - Guess what? - I was dead wrong!…Why bring this up?…Because this is what St Paul tells us today in the first reading from Mass…..”a veil lies over the hearts of the children of Israel”…And that veil is sin and it prevents us from “seeing”….So how do the “scales fall from our eyes”…..Once again….Back to First Principals……I am going to give you an acronym to remember the First Principals we must embrace in order for us to “see” and be free!…Here is the acronym - Are you ready? - MARC: Mass - Adoration - Rosary - Confession………So easy - So Basic - Completely free of charge too!…This is how we see and become free…So write it down!

“The LORD himself will give his benefits; our land shall yield its increase. Justice shall walk before him, and salvation, along the way of his steps”

Today we are given a reminder by St Paul at Mass about some recurring themes of the Bible - How we are able to see clearly and How we can find true freedom….Our world today vehemently disagrees with this message and the solution proposed by the Catholic Church….But that disagreement should tell you something right off the bat…Why you may say? - Because seeing is believing - Right? - Look out your window - How is “the world” doing based upon what it says will make you “see” and be “free”?…..Jesus in Scripture is very clear…..”Let them alone; they are blind guides [of the blind]. If a blind person leads a blind person, both will fall into a pit”……You see - What you “see” has very little to do with your eyes - It has everything to do with your heart…And if your heart is free - Only then will you “see”
