“The more we accept and trust in divine providence, the more the Lord will manifest his goodness and wisdom”

The holiest man is not he who is in the holiest state of life, it is he who fulfills most perfectly the duties of the state in which Divine Providence has placed him.~ St. Lidwina: (1380 -  1433:  A Dutch Saint)

Gospel Text: (MK 6:7-13)
Jesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two
and gave them authority over unclean spirits.
He instructed them to take nothing for the journey
but a walking stick—
no food, no sack, no money in their belts.
They were, however, to wear sandals
but not a second tunic.
He said to them,
“Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave.
Whatever place does not welcome you or listen to you,
leave there and shake the dust off your feet
in testimony against them.”
So they went off and preached repentance.
The Twelve drove out many demons,
and they anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them.

In Mark’s gospel, Jesus tells us that we need not worry. We simply need to trust that He is with us and that He will provide everything we need.  The disciples, all simple ordinary men, grasped this truth and were able to share the good news of Jesus with power and effectiveness well beyond anything they could ever have imagined.

God used each of them just like He has planned to use each of us.
