How do you make time for silence in your day?

We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness.
God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence…We need silence to be able to touch souls. – Mother Teresa_ (1910 - 1997: Founded the Missionaries of Charity)

Gospel Text:(JN 10:22-30)
The feast of the Dedication was taking place in Jerusalem.
It was winter.
And Jesus walked about in the temple area on the Portico of Solomon.
So the Jews gathered around him and said to him,
"How long are you going to keep us in suspense?
If you are the Christ, tell us plainly."
Jesus answered them, "I told you and you do not believe.
The works I do in my Father's name testify to me.
But you do not believe, because you are not among my sheep.
My sheep hear my voice;
I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.
No one can take them out of my hand.
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all,
and no one can take them out of the Father's hand.
The Father and I are one."

Some years ago a provocative thought was put on a large billboard: WE NEED TO TALK. Signed God! This sign was a wonderful and simple reminder of the most important work of our lives! We desperately need to have a talk with God, This is what we call prayer. In today’s Scripture we have a text that enlightens us how to go about praying. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” Jn 10:27

One of the first steps of sitting down and communicating with God is for Him to speak with us. All good communication starts with listening.
