Take Jesus at his word!…And tell fear to “beat it”

Today at Holy Mass we hear in the Gospel of Luke the friends of Jesus ask him to increase their faith….Jesus gives them an interesting response…..He gives the same response to us as well…..”The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith." The Lord replied, "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you”…..Before I go on with this reflection let me just start by saying - MOST CATHOLICS DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT JESUS SAID - How do I know that?…..By the way we embrace the status quo……We settle for mediocrity…..The driving purpose of this reflection is to simply say - NEVER SETTLE!…….We must learn to take Jesus at his word!….When we do - Amazing things happen…Why don’t we do that? - We lack trust……Think about what I am now writing from a secular point of view…..To follow Jesus Christ radically is considered “impractical” - Yes, “I get it”….But was it “practical” for Mark Zuckerberg to drop out of Harvard to start Facebook?……I bet he “turned a few heads” in his family when he made that decision….Was it “practical” when Sam Altman dropped out of Stanford? - Only to go on to be the CEO of OpenAI and oversee the successful launch of ChatGPT, which is about to revolutionize the entire world…..Now let’s put this idea in the context of Catholic saints….Was it practical for St Francis to give up his family wealth to embrace radical poverty and preach the Gospel like it was never preached before? - Was that “practical”? - Of course not - But let’s be honest - Look at the outcome…..Was it “practical when St Joseph took a pregnant young woman into his home believing the child came directly from God and not from a man - Was that “practical”? - But again - Look at the outcome……With all this being said….How does this effect us?…..What separates us from the true “movers and shakers” of the world?…..FEAR for one - We are afraid…..What else separates us from the great saints? - Forget about Mark Zuckerberg and Sam Altman - Trust me…In 150 years no one will know who they are!…..So again, what separates us from the saints? - We do not take Christ at his word…This must stop today - If you take Jesus at his word - You will shake the foundations of the world!…Know what else you will do?…….If you ”say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you”…Now you don’t have to believe me - But you should believe the man who rose from the dead - Not a “bad trick” - Agree?…And 2000 years later - The world is still talking about this man from Nazareth - An uneducated Carpenter, who befriend a group of smelly fishermen …..And he did not even have to go to Harvard or Stanford, even for a few semesters before dropping out - Imagine that!…Go figure!

“The word of the Lord remains forever. This is the word that has been proclaimed to you”

As many people know, I work in corporate America in finance services….And starting in the Summer of 2020, the Woke Revolution, which terrorized America was getting people fired from their jobs…..Since 2018, I have co-hosted a radio show in the New York Metropolitan Area, which has addressed head on all of the woke lies being shoved down the throats of Americans…Never once did I back down - Never once…Two times, individuals tried to get me fired from my job…And both times I came out on top - Trusting that God will keep me safe - And guess what? - He did - To this very day…….I have placed my trust and the security of my family in the hands of the Lord…And he has NEVER let me down - And NEVER will…..Why do I tell you this? - For one, I am not just doing a lot of “talking”….I have “skin in the game” here….Second, I am trying to encourage everyone who reads this - Put your hand into the hand of the Lord and never turn back…..You want to do something great? - Follow the Lord radically - Take him at his word…And if you do this - You will set the world on fire!……Don’t believe me? - Are you still afraid?……”If God so clothes the grass of the field, which grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith? So do not worry and say, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear?’ All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom [of God] and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil”…….Don’t take my word for it - Take the words of Christ - And take those words to heart!

“I remind you, to stir into flame the gift of God that you have through the imposition of my hands…..For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice”

Today at Mass we all heard something that has been read to us time and time again….."If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you”….And for many, this message will go in one ear and out the other…..But for some - They will take this statement to heart - And because of that decision - Great things will happen…..If Jesus is God and most people would agree about that…And if this man, who is God rose from the dead…Isn’t logical to assume that everything he said is true?….And if that is a true statement - Why don’t we believe him?…….Its time to “get out of the boat”….Ask anyone who has achieved anything in this life….The “movers and the shakers” take chances - They understand risk and stare it boldly “in the face”…….The difference between mediocrity and greatness comes down to Trust - Take Jesus at his word!…And tell fear to “beat it”……………..JMJ
