The key to our Catholic faith is knowing that Jesus is fully present in the Blessed Sacarment…This is not an “academic point” of understanding…When you know this - I mean really know this, everything changes…Hearts change - People change - The world changes

Today at Holy Mass we hear from the Gospel of John how Jesus again teachs about the “Bread of Life”…..”So Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave the bread from heaven; my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” So they said to Jesus, “Sir, give us this bread always.” Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst”…….Clearly Jesus is referring to the Blessed Sacrament…..Yet - The human mind rationalizes away the very words of God……If one is objective and simply reads the words of Jesus Christ, there is no way we can deny that there is a pressing need to live a Sacramental life….Yet - The human mind rationalizes away the very words of God…So the question is - How can we remedy this?…..Sit before the Blessed Sacrament exposed on the altar…Sit for short periods of time in silence each week…In the silence you will be given the answer…Then its up to you

“I am the bread of life, says the Lord; whoever comes to me will never hunger”

A priest I know from England told a story how he came into his Catholic faith and eventually became a priest. As a young man, Fr Emmanuel was a gifted athlete and a very outgoing guy - A truly gifted person - If you met him you would agree with me immediately upon speaking to him…He really was not interested in his Catholic faith that he was born into…He had tons of friends…He was smart…He had all the gifts one needs to be very successful in this world…..While in High School he had to go on a retreat as most Catholic High Schools require and it was at that retreat during Eucharist Adoration that Fr Emmanuel said he literally “fell over and passed out” while standing before the Blessed Sacrament…He said it was like he was struck by lightening!…..This event led him to question his life, explore his Catholic faith and eventually he became a priest……This is a true story…..I know another man who from my hometown parish told me that after high school he joined the military and fell away from his Catholic faith…After years of living a bad life, he one day went into a Catholic Church…No one was in the Church….As he walked up the altar towards the tabernacle, he said he literally collapsed on the floor….Again, like he was struck by lightening!......From that point on, he reverted back to his Catholic faith and his life changed drastically…..What can make someone react in that manner?…..Jesus is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament….Sit before him in silence and you will see…The peace in a room when Christ is exposed on the altar is tangible!….Literally tangible!…People try all kinds of things searching for peace…They spend countless dollars…They travel the world…..Why not give Jesus a try?….Sit before him in silence…You just may be surprised at what happens

“What sign can you do, that we may see and believe in you?…..What can you do?”

Today we hear in the Gospel at Mass St John tell us about Jesus begins fully present in the Blessed Sacrament…This is the “game changer”….When a person understands this mystery, they will never look at the Mass or their Catholic faith the same way again…..This is why if you do not fully believe this reality to be true…You should spend time before the Blessed Sacarment in silence…Jesus tells us….“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you”….The key to our Catholic faith is knowing that Jesus is fully present in the Blessed Sacarment…This is not an “academic point” of understanding…When you know this - I mean really know this, everything changes…Hearts change - People change - The world changes
