We too today wait with Mary….The task has not changed nor has Mary…..She who was conceived without sin continues to help those who sin…She points the way

Today on Holy Saturday there is no Mass…The world awaits Easter Sunday…However, 2000 years ago what was thought for a moment to be the answer, was crushed…All of Jesus's friends in the end abandoned him…Mostly out of fear and those who saw the miracles and heard the words spoken have once again given up hope…Accept for one person….Mary…..Tradition holds that Holy Saturday is dedicated to Mary because while everyone gave up hope that Jesus would indeed rise from the dead, Mary did not……She took Jesus at his word - And so should we.....Remember, this woman bore Christ in her womb…A woman who did not know a man…Mary understood in a infinitely deeper way that Jesus would indeed rise…She stood fearlessly at the foot of the cross while the rest ran away and she stood firm on this day, Holy Saturday, grounded in faith that the words of Christ would ring true..... "On the third day I will rise"......….For this and many more reasons, we honor Mary. Jesus himself gave her to us through St John…..

”Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home”

The most direct way to approach Jesus is through his Mother because no one knew Christ better than her…And to this very day, that reality is just that reality….When we sit at the feet of Mary, she teaches us about her son and when we pray through her intercession, she delivers our prayers to her son in a way that we can not…Why?…Because Mary was pure and without sin….She had to be pure…Why?…Because how could Jesus who was sinless come from the body of a woman who was a sinner?…God spared Mary of the mark of Adam and preserved her for the purpose to bring the son of Man into the world...This is why Mary is called the "New Eve" and through her, the "New Adam", Jesus redeemed the world

So today the world is still and it waits…But it waits with Our Lady…Who in the early Church consoled the first disciples who were tasked with bringing the faith to the enter world….We too today wait with Mary….The task has not changed nor has Mary…..She who was conceived without sin continues to help those who sin…She points the way
